At the conference today, organized by Model Alliance, NYC, Anne V. shared some of the things she dealt with starting her career at age 15. She urged the young aspiring models to stand up for themselves. Anne also shared the belief that had her career started at age 18, the same opportunities would have been presented to her. Her are some of Anne’s words of wisdom.

“Age is an issue that comes in waves. When I started in 2001, no one would take me because I was 15 and a young face….Being told to lose weight at 16 was so tough for me. No child should ever experience that. I went from being 16 and never been kissed to men paying attention to me when I started modeling. You’re around alcohol and promoters.”
Anne went on to say, “You girls should really speak up and speak your mind. It’s so important. You’re a human being and you need to protect yourself.”
